About the role

Point Real Estate Management is seeking a motivated full-time Maintenance Technician to join their team at a premier Class A multifamily residential community just east of downtown Saint Paul, Minnesota. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of full-time experience in apartment maintenance or a related field, with HVAC certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Service requests made by residents should be completed within 24 hours
  • Absorb and distribute flyers and other material
  • Maintain and repair HVAC systems, including replacing filters and cleaning vents
  • Perform light electrical and plumbing repairs, such as fixing appliances, fixtures, and circuits
  • Replace broken glass, tile, carpet, and perform light carpentry work
  • Clean common areas, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and emptying trash
  • Assist with grounds work, including picking up litter and trashing out vacancies
  • Manage pool chemical levels and cleanliness, if applicable
  • Refurbish apartments before resident occupancy (make readies)
  • Conduct preventive maintenance checks and assist with janitorial tasks
  • Inspect properties and perform necessary repairs and janitorial assistance
  • Keep records of maintenance, chemicals, work orders, and inventory
  • Order supplies and maintain stock control
  • Handle “on call” duties, participate in standby emergency schedules, and prepare the property for inspections
  • Make keys, change locks, and assist with key control
  • Report dangerous conditions or issues of liability immediately

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of full-time experience in apartment maintenance or a trade requiring basic knowledge of electricity, plumbing, carpentry, and painting
  • Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation
  • Ability to work weekends and travel as needed
  • Basic set of hand tools
  • Own basic set of hand tools

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Technical certification preferred

Skills

  • Strong customer service skills
  • Basic knowledge of electricity, plumbing, carpentry, and painting
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
