Job Duties
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other employees, officials, and the general public.
- Operates a motor vehicle to assist in carrying out the business of the department and the City.
- Works under the supervision of the Lead HVAC.
- Serves as a member of various employee committees, as assigned.
- Assists other personnel of Building Maintenance as needed.
Qualifications
- Graduation from high school or GED equivalent, and Two (2) years of experience in HVAC and maintenance fields.
- Valid New Mexico's driver's license with acceptable driving record for the past three years.
- Must possess or have the ability to obtain EPA certification, New Mexico State Journeyman Refrigeration (JR) and Journeyman Gas fitter licenses (JG) within one (1) year of date of hire.
- Knowledge of Uniform Plumbing and Mechanical Codes and Standards.
- Must possess strong computer skills.
Physical Demands
- Frequently walks, sits, talks, and hears.
- Frequently uses hands to finger, handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls.
- Frequently reaches with hands and arms.
- Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds and may occasionally move up to 75 pounds with assistance.
- Occasionally works in high, precarious places.
- Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and may work with chemicals such as paint, lacquer, and paint-thinner.
- Occasionally works in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
- Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts, vibration, and risk of electrical shock.
- Occasionally works in noisy environments.
