About the role

The Maintenance Technician performs skilled maintenance and repair services of facility systems such as mechanical, electrical, and building systems. The primary emphasis is the performance of a variety of maintenance tasks requiring varying degrees of skill.

Responsibilities

  • Performs preventive maintenance tasks on all equipment.
  • Fabricates metal structures through cutting and welding.
  • Repairs and maintains physical structures using hand tools and power tools.
  • Observes safety precautions, rules, and regulations.
  • Installs and repairs hydraulic equipment, valves, and cylinders.
  • Inspects, tests, repairs machinery, equipment, and facility.
  • Installs and repairs electrical equipment, transformers, and wiring.
  • Installs and repairs pneumatic equipment, valves, and cylinders.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma and/or Associate’s Degree or equivalent from a technical college in a related field.
  • 3+ years of previous maintenance experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook, and Internet applications.
  • Basic analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management, and planning skills.
  • Basic verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, and reasoning).
  • Basic understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers, colleagues, and clients.
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work with and influence peers and management.
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting.
  • Mechanical aptitude; ability to use a variety of hand tools and basic knowledge of power tools, forklifts, welding equipment, and cutting torch.
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary.

Physical Aspects / Work Environment

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk, hear, and see.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold and heat, risk of electrical shock, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • The noise level in the work environment may be high.

Pay

The U.S. pay range for this position is $23 - $26 USD hourly. Compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets and considers the successful candidate’s location, experience, and other job-related factors.
