About the Role
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the repair, troubleshooting, installation, and preventive maintenance of production, engineering, chemical processing, gas manifold, and facility equipment.
Responsibilities
- Install, modify, troubleshoot, and repair chemical processing and auxiliary equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance and support the Preventative Maintenance Program.
- Maintain and monitor the Monitoring and Measuring Devices Program.
- Troubleshoot and repair gas manifolds and associated facility equipment.
- Review and update Work Instructions based on maintenance and repair data.
- Recommend preventive maintenance intervals and spare parts inventory levels.
- Perform component rebuilds, calibrations, and valid leak checks.
- Understand and follow process flow within chemical processing equipment.
- Support engineering improvement and construction projects by helping define project scope and schedules.
- Prepare Purchase Requisitions for required parts and equipment.
- Read and construct systems from P&IDs and engineering drawings.
- Promote safety, organization, and compliance within the Maintenance Department.
- Organize and maintain information using available computer software.
- Complete all required training and follow all work instructions and safety protocols.
- Participate as a member of the ALE Emergency Response (ER) Team and ER Entry Team.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
- Knowledge of gas/pressure system components, theory, and operation.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs and engineering drawings.
- Basic knowledge of electronics, electrical systems, plumbing, and carpentry.
- General mechanical and industrial maintenance skills.
- Tube bending experience.
- Ability to perform equipment troubleshooting, repair, calibration, and leak checks.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and climb ladders.
- Ability to successfully complete required medical and physical testing for respiratory protection.
Physical & Safety Requirements
- Must maintain a clean-shaven condition to ensure proper respirator fit.
- Must be able to wear a full-face, tight-fitting respirator and fully encapsulated Level A Emergency Response suit.
- Must be able to use Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) and/or supplied-air respirators (SAR) as required.
- Must meet fitness-for-duty requirements and successfully complete all required safety and emergency response training.
