Roadtex Transportation, a leader in the nationwide LTL industry, specializes in transporting time and temperature-sensitive products. We handle refrigerated and LTL needs through no sailing schedules, a nationwide network of 32 strategically placed temperature-controlled facilities, state-of-the-art tracking, and specialized equipment and warehousing capabilities. In 2022, Roadtex was acquired by Echo Global Logistics, expanding our transportation management solutions and national warehouse footprint.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of all warehouse equipment, including mechanical, electrical, and conveyor systems.
- Maintain 40-50 machines, including tapers, label printers, robots, and other automated systems.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to equipment, combining both mechanical and electrical repairs (e.g., lockout/tagout procedures, electrical panel shutdowns).
- Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
- Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments.
- Develop and implement safety programs and training for warehouse personnel.
- Provide technical support to operations and maintenance teams.
- Collaborate with production, quality, and logistics departments to resolve technical issues and improve operations.
- Manage overstock parts, ensuring they are logged and ordered as needed.
- Train and mentor maintenance personnel on best practices in equipment operation, maintenance, and safety.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve operations.
- Perform facility maintenance for the three buildings on the Roadtex Warehouse Services campus.
Requirements
- Certification in Mechanical Maintenance or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in equipment maintenance at a mid-size to large facility.
- Strong knowledge of industrial equipment, maintenance practices, and reliability engineering.
- Experience with project management and safety training.
- Familiarity with safety and environmental regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in Maintenance & Reliability (CMRP).
- Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
Working Conditions
- Primarily warehouse-based with some office work.
- Occasional travel to other facilities or vendors.
- Must be able to work in varying conditions, including exposure to noise, heat, and hazardous materials.
