About the role
The maintenance technician provides technical support, troubleshooting, and repair of facility equipment. Maintains assigned equipment and provides training to peers as needed.
Responsibilities
- Monitor production areas to ensure proper functioning of assigned equipment and intervene for repairs as necessary
- Utilize all manner of hand and power tools to diagnose, adjust, maintain, and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment
- Review work orders to ensure accuracy and maintain documentation of work performed
- Assist with installation of new equipment or modify existing equipment as required
- Provide training to peers as requested or needed by maintenance lead, supervisor, or training department
- Make suggestions for correctible measures when downtime results from mechanical or technical defects
- Attend maintenance meetings and trainings as required
- Identify opportunities for improvement and give feedback to supervisor about cost reduction, quality improvement and yield control
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
Requirements
- MUST have a minimum of 6 months industrial maintenance experience
- MUST be comfortable and experienced utilizing hand and power tools of all varieties
- MUST know how to accurately use and read a tape measure as well as industrial blueprints
- MUST have basic knowledge and safety understanding of electrical components
- MUST have knowledge of basic math, including addition, subtraction, division, multiplication and calculating percentages
- Skill in using a personal computer and various software applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
- Ability to work in a refrigerated environment ranging from 45-50 degrees Fahrenheit
- Ability to communicate in a courteous and professional manner with all plant employees, as well as third party vendors and contractors
- Ability to operate a forklift, scissors lift, or any other powered equipment or machinery as needed
- Ability to consistently practice and enforce safe working habits
- Ability to recognize safety risks and comply with all safety standards
- Ability to work with a group of technicians or autonomously with limited supervision
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
- MUST be able to pass required physical including demonstrating your ability to lift the required weight for each position
- MUST be able to stand and/or walk for entire 8-hour shift
- MUST wear correct job specific PPE as designated by company policy
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or higher in Mechatronics, Electrical, Welding or similar fields (preferred)
- Previous experience working with VFD’s (Variable Frequency Drive) (preferred)
- Welding experience (preferred)
