Maintenance Technician

About the role

You will plan and perform major equipment installation, maintenance, overhauls, and inspections of industrial mechanical and rotating systems and equipment, including compressors, pumps, turbines, motors, gearboxes, heat exchangers, and cooling towers. Additionally, you will support and maintain water treatment systems, gas-fired vaporizers, H₂ generators, piping systems, and other related process equipment.

• Assist in turnaround planning and cost estimation for mechanical work and identify and resolve chronic mechanical asset concerns.
• Conduct periodic inspection and maintenance of plant equipment and support the root cause analysis program for major failures.
• Maintain documentation of all maintenance activities in EAM and uphold the Oil & Vibrations Predictive Program.
• Work independently, making technical decisions and escalating technical concerns as needed.
• Perform both office and field work, requiring accessibility during off-hours and the ability to access elevated equipment using ladders, scaffolding, man-lifts, and crane baskets.

Requirements

• Minimum of five (5) years' experience in the maintenance of mechanical and rotating systems and equipment in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience in installation, troubleshooting, inspection, and repairs of compressors, turbines, blowers, and heat exchangers.
• Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance for industrial mechanical and rotating systems and equipment.
• Ability to use precision measuring devices and perform precision alignment on multi-train equipment.
• Excellent communication and team interaction skills, with the ability to work independently and lead or participate in teams.
• Strong documentation and record-keeping skills, experience with computers and standard software packages, and proficiency in using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
• Proficiency in understanding regulatory and industrial standards and codes; completion of a machinist/millwright apprenticeship program is a plus.
• Hands-on experience in vibration analysis and dynamic balancing, familiarity with EAM CMMS system.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role, including confined space entry, climbing, lifting up to fifty pounds, and working at heights.
• Available to work extended hours when business needs arise.
• Flexibility to support weekend, holiday, and call-in coverage.
• Reliable and safety-focused presence during critical operational periods.
