Maintenance Technician
About the role
Responsible for performing highly diversified duties as directed to install, troubleshoot, repair and/or maintain production and other facility equipment and systems either as needed or according to established schedules to support production and other company operations.
Responsibilities
- Install and maintain production equipment and other facility equipment.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repair of production equipment during production time.
- Perform regular preventative maintenance on equipment, machines, and other systems within the facility.
- Perform maintenance repairs including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and others appropriate to the task at hand.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals, prints, diagrams, work orders, and other documents to perform needed maintenance or service.
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test, and make necessary adjustments.
- Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
- Properly use a variety of hand and power tools, meters, and other tools/equipment while performing duties.
- Control downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.
- Fabricate repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment – includes welding, cutting, and grinding.
- Experience and knowledge of machining equipment and the use of metal cutting lathe, mill, and grinders.
- Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies.
- Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Comply with all company policies with emphasis on those involving safety.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED.
- Industrial Maintenance certificate or 5+ years’ experience in general industrial maintenance.
- Demonstrated knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic systems, and PLC.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and related drawings and diagrams.
- Computer experience; Microsoft Office preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze non-standard situations (troubleshoot) and implement effective actions, adjustments, and/or repairs.
- Experience with Fanuc robotic programming and troubleshooting preferred.
