About the role

Under the direction of the Maintenance Lead, you will perform various tasks associated with the maintenance and repair of our facilities, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for our residents and team members.

Responsibilities

  • Repair, replace, and maintain the physical plant, including ventilation units, plumbing, thermostats, valves, electrical systems, refrigeration (condensers, defrosters, refrigerators, freezers), plumbing (toilets, sinks, water coolers), sheetrock (taping, texturing), painting, furnishings, fixtures, and landscape maintenance.
  • Keep maintenance areas clean and orderly.
  • Plumbing: Install, repair, and maintain piping, fittings, and fixtures for water and gas distribution throughout the facility.
  • Electrical: Operate and make minor repairs to existing electrical systems, including installation of junction boxes, receptacles, and switches. Replace motors, belts, pulleys, micro-switches, lights, fixtures, and associated electrical appliances as needed.
  • Carpentry: Perform standard woodworking tasks, finish work including cabinetry, painting, and minor repairs.
  • General Maintenance: Repair and service sprinkler systems, including sprinkler valves, PVC piping, and outside water and control valves. Perform minor concrete repairs to sidewalks and patios. Maintain outside lighting systems, including parking lots and refuse areas.
  • Maintain all maintenance tools and equipment in working and orderly condition.
  • Accept incoming freight and notify respective departments of merchandise arrivals.

  • Work in accordance with established safety guidelines, using proper body mechanics, safe work practices, and appropriate safety gear.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or graduate of a technical or vocational school.
  • Three years of experience with progressive responsibility in maintenance and power plant work.
  • Minimum of two years of general maintenance experience with emphasis on electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.
  • Current first aid training for staff providing direct care to residents.

Work Conditions and Physical Requirements

  • This position involves Medium Work – exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

The final candidate must successfully pass Eskaton's post-offer, pre-employment testing, which includes a criminal background check, drug test, TB screen test, and health screen. All new hires are required to sign an arbitration agreement as a condition of employment.

Pay

Starting pay ranges from $22.90 per hour to $30.30 per hour. Factors such as scope, responsibilities, experience, education, job-related skills, internal equity, and market considerations may influence base pay.
