Responsibilities
- Oversee routine maintenance and emergency repairs for hotel equipment, systems, and infrastructure (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, and elevators).
- Perform or supervise preventive maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and extend the life of equipment.
- Ensure all hotel facilities, including guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces, are in excellent condition.
- Maintain compliance with brand standards for property upkeep and appearance.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, including fire safety and building codes.
- Perform regular safety inspections and maintain records of certifications and inspections.
- Monitor and manage energy consumption to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Implement energy-saving initiatives and sustainable practices.
- Work closely with housekeeping, front desk, and food & beverage teams to address maintenance needs promptly and support guest satisfaction.
- Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs or large-scale projects.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
Skills
- Building Systems Expertise: In-depth knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems, as well as elevators and fire safety equipment.
- Preventive Maintenance: Skills in developing and implementing preventive maintenance schedules for long-term efficiency.
- Troubleshooting and Repair: Ability to diagnose and repair issues promptly across a variety of hotel systems.
- Energy Management: Understanding of energy-efficient practices and systems to reduce costs and improve sustainability.
- Technical Certifications: Certifications like HVAC Technician, Electrician License, or OSHA safety training are preferred.
- Guest Sensitivity: Awareness of how maintenance activities can impact guests and taking measures to minimize disruptions.
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays
