Shift: Thursday - Sunday (10hr shift) flexible start time. Location: Guilford, CT.

About the Role

The Maintenance Technician will support the objectives of production through the Maintenance function by the implementation of assigned tasks, supplying continuity between engineering and managerial functions. Maintains (through preventative maintenance) repairs and troubleshoots mechanical and electrical systems for production equipment.

Primary Functions and Responsibilities

  • Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on Mark Andy Printing Presses, UTECO Printing Press, Die Cutting Equipment, Mark Andy Rotoflex Inspection Equipment, motors, pneumatics, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
  • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, forklifts, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
  • Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments with appropriate tools.
  • Controls downtime by informing production workers and management of routine preventive maintenance techniques, and schedules as needed.
  • Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
  • Maintains equipment, parts & and supplies inventories.
  • Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
  • Prepares mechanical maintenance reports: collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information & trends.
  • Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Maintains safe & clean working environment by complying with all safety procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of appropriate experience
  • Working knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical equipment and procedures
  • Experience troubleshooting PLC's, instrumentation, and other electronics.
  • Basic Welding Skills a plus.
  • Ability to follow Wiring Schematics and diagnose control circuitry.
  • Familiarity with OSHA and Environmental Regulations.
  • Sensitive to the needs of a diverse employee base
  • HS Diploma or GED required.
  • Excellent communications
  • Previous print industry experience is required and troubleshooting printing related challenges
  • Must be able to stand for the majority of the shift
  • Must be able to perform well under deadline constraints.
  • Must be detail oriented and have excellent, quality driven work habits.
  • Willingness to work overtime, and if needed weekends.
  • Must be willing to learn and attend training classes as defined by Management.
  • PC literacy and proficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Good communication skills and ability to work a flexible working schedule including shift work.
  • Ability to push, pull, bend, and/or lift up to 50 lbs.

Pay

$24-$35/hr
