Maintenance Technician

Shift A: Tuesday through Saturday, 2:00 AM – 10:00 AM
Shift B: Tuesday through Saturday, 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM

About the role

Within an automated laundry, the Maintenance Technician performs preventative and specialized maintenance of the facility and its equipment, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and maintenance policies. You will collaborate with plant personnel to improve equipment performance. This role is safety-sensitive and critical to the safe, cost-effective operation of the facility, including Alsco’s wastewater systems and power plant equipment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the General Manager, Production Management team, and other key operational partners to support facility operations.
• Use a computerized Preventive Maintenance (PM) program daily to document repairs, complete maintenance activities, and respond promptly to equipment failures.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment with an emphasis on automation and control systems.
• Maintain compliance with operational, safety, and environmental requirements by completing safety training, recording and retaining required documentation, supporting wastewater compliance, and maintaining computerized maintenance records.
• Perform preventive maintenance on facility equipment and infrastructure to maximize reliability and minimize downtime.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in plumbing, electrical, steam, controls, PLC, welding, or mechanical systems preferred.
• 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (free of chargeable accidents, speeding, or other safety violations).

Skills and Competencies

• Electric schematics and low-voltage troubleshooting.
• Controls, steam/boiler operation, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Safety compliance (e.g., LOTO, hot work, confined space).
• Wastewater treatment.
• Computerized preventative maintenance systems.

Specialized Knowledge and Licenses

• Boiler operator license (required in some states).
• Wastewater certification (required in some states).

Work Environment

• Standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and twisting; working in confined spaces.
• Reaching overhead and working at heights (15 feet or more) using ladders or lifts.
• Lifting and carrying up to 100 lbs; pushing or pulling carts up to 500 lbs.
• Operating forklifts and other industrial equipment.
• Reading, writing, speaking, and hearing.
• Work performed in an industrial laundry facility, both indoors and outdoors, with exposure to large machinery, moving equipment, noise, heat, humidity, lint, dust, and varying temperatures.
• May involve use of respirators, operation of industrial equipment, and entry into confined spaces following safety procedures.
• Occasional local travel for parts procurement or training.
