About the Role
Maximize productive time of equipment. Improve the reliability and repeatability of production systems through troubleshooting and preventive maintenance activities. Provide support to production associates for the maintenance of their own equipment. This position supports both welding and forging/machining operations, including maintenance of all production equipment, and collaborates with engineering resources on forging, machining, and welding-related issues. Assist in the design and maintenance of new or modified systems.
Responsibilities
- Comply with all safety standards and regulations.
- Complete periodic and incidental machine maintenance accurately and timely.
- Perform preventive maintenance as outlined in equipment manufacturer’s recommendations.
- Plan and implement corrective actions in conjunction with management direction.
- Maintain building, equipment, and grounds in a clean and orderly manner.
- Assist in the purchase of maintenance supplies and equipment parts as required or directed.
- Support production departments in meeting hourly and daily quality, delivery, productivity, and cost metrics.
- Help compile and write training materials and conduct training sessions on manufacturing concepts and tooling.
- Interface with other engineering components within the company and with customers and suppliers on manufacturing-related issues.
- Record activities, downtime, and parts consumption as required by department leader.
- Help implement new process rollouts at the local plant level.
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree in Industrial Maintenance or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5–7 years of maintenance experience.
- 5 years of experience with PLCs, preferably Allen Bradley and/or Siemens.
- Experience with 480-volt electrical systems.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical, electronic, fluid power, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
- FANUC Robotics background preferred.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements outlined by OSHA, EPA, NFPA, NEC, and other state/local organizations.
- Machining and welding capabilities required.
- Computer literate (Microsoft Office applications).
- Proficiency in analytical problem-solving techniques and strong written and oral communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision.
