About the role
We are seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician 2 to join our team at The Metropolitan Apartments, a 304-unit community located in Fishers, Indiana. This is a training role that will provide opportunities to further your proficiency within the maintenance trade.
Responsibilities
- Perform unit make-readies and maintenance requirements, including assisting with snow removal, grounds upkeep, equipment upkeep, and basic-level service requests
- Physical activities related to exterior grounds maintenance
- Janitorial duties to preserve and maintain the apartment community and its facilities
- Pool water management, if applicable
- Work alone or with other maintenance personnel to perform unit make-ready processes and intermediate-level repairs (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry, appliance repair, HVAC, and painting)
- Participate in move-in/out inspection processes
- General property maintenance as identified by supervisor
- Participate in snow event preparation and removal
- Respond to periodic after-hours "emergency" maintenance requests
- Participate in community and equipment-related preventative maintenance tasks
- Participate in inventory management of maintenance line items as needed
- Take responsibility for other work-related tasks as assigned by the Community Manager or Maintenance Supervisor
Requirements
- Availability to work full-time: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm with emergency on-call rotation as designated by the Community Manager
- 1 or more years of related experience demonstrating broad knowledge of general maintenance
- EPA Type I & II, CAMT, and/or CPO certifications are a plus
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Positive, team-oriented attitude
- Valid driver’s license with proof of insurance
- High school diploma or equivalent
