Maintenance Technician - 12 Hr Night Shift

At our Owen, WI facility, we are part of the Dairy and Culinary division and produce cheese powders, meal seasonings (mashed potato seasoning), dairy flavors, and cheese sauce for retail customers. This site participates in many local area charities and festivals throughout the year.

About the role

We have an immediate opening for a 12-hour Night Shift Maintenance Technician (6:00 PM – 6:00 AM) on a rotating schedule. A $3.00 shift differential applies for night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Maintenance team to complete building repairs, equipment installation, troubleshooting, and unforeseen repairs in a timely fashion.
• Follow good manufacturing practices to maintain inventory, preventive maintenance, good housekeeping, and ensure compliance with all safety and environmental laws and regulations.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic problems and malfunctions.
• Repair, replace, or rebuild process equipment such as pumps, gearboxes, valves, and motors.
• Perform maintenance and repairs on facility equipment, property structures, and grounds.
• Independently perform preventive maintenance as scheduled by the Maintenance Planner per Kerry and manufacturer specifications.
• Log all work performed on preventive maintenance work orders, repair work orders, and new equipment installations (including hours worked) in the CMMS program.
• Serve on the Plant Safety Committee and attend company-sponsored Safety Training programs.
• Be available for emergency call-in to perform equipment and system repairs on a rotating basis.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of electrical 3-phase systems, PLCs, and controls.
• Extensive experience repairing and/or replacing pumps, motors, filters, and pipes.
• Proficiency in welding, cutting, grinding, and operation of a wide range of powered shop tools.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Must be available for on-call emergency repairs.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $26.00 – $39.00 per hour. Kerry typically does not hire at or near the top of the range, as compensation is performance-based and rewards annual performance while in role.
