Maintenance Technician - 12 Hr Night Shift

About the role

Along the beautiful shores of Lake Michigan, our Manitowoc, WI location is part of our Smoke and Grill Division and creates condensed, natural smoke for our customers and brands. You’ll work in a state-of-the-art facility with a team that’s committed to helping each other succeed in their roles through structured training and a committed, engaged supervisor. This is a 12-hour night shift position (6:00 PM – 6:00 AM) with a 4-on, 4-off rotating schedule.

Responsibilities

• Complete building repairs, equipment installation, troubleshooting, and installation
• Fulfill assigned work orders and address unforeseen repairs in a timely fashion
• Follow good manufacturing practices to maintain inventory and preventative maintenance
• Maintain good housekeeping and ensure compliance with all safety and environmental laws and regulations
• Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery
• Install and maintain pipe systems, hydraulic steam, and pneumatic equipment
• Repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment
• Perform building maintenance including minor plumbing, welding, and general upkeep

Requirements

• 2+ years of general maintenance experience
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment; food/beverage experience highly preferred
• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree in a relevant field preferred
• Basic technical knowledge of some or all of the following:
  • Stainless steel welding/fabrication
  • Sanitary certified welding (outside certification)
  • Piping systems
  • Electricity
  • PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) – a plus
  • Process control instrumentation
  • HVAC systems
  • Process equipment
  • Personal computing

Pay

The pay range for this position is $23 - $38 per hour. Kerry typically does not hire an individual at the top or near the top of the range, as we are a pay-for-performance company, and this range is set to continue to reward performance annually while in role. Compensation decisions are dependent on skills, qualifications, experience, and internal equity.
