Assist in equipment repair and preventative maintenance procedures within the facility.

Repairs, replaces, or corrects equipment to ensure it operates correctly and efficiently according to production requirements.
Consults with Engineers and vendors as needed.
Accomplishes layout work for each project as required.
Troubleshoots equipment issues.
Meets safety requirements, complying with all policies or regulations set by Simmons or government agencies concerning safety, environment, vehicle handling, food products, packaging, ingredients, and related items.
Participates as a team member in the ongoing development, communication, and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies.
Coordinates work to ensure best practices with all team members and attends appropriate team meetings.
Fosters strong team cohesiveness on major issues and identifies areas lacking cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader.
Supports Simmons’ operating systems (e.g., quality, security, office environment, company policies, LEAN) and understands the role in maintaining these systems.
Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.

Enters and locates information on a computer and visually verifies small print.
Manually lifts or moves objects weighing 75-150 pounds.
Works in extreme temperatures, on feet for entire shift.
Works in cramped, enclosed, elevated, wet, or dirty areas with noise levels above 90 decibels.

Uses appropriate footwear, hearing protection, and other protective equipment as needed or required.

Experience or vocational training in welding, electrical or mechanical repair, and refrigeration or hydraulics.
Preference for candidates with experience in poultry or food processing organizations.
Military experience is valued and veterans are encouraged to apply.
