ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Inspects and tests machinery and equipment as required to ensure proper function.
- Experience in electromechanical equipment diagnosis and repair.
- Hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, electronic, PLC integration.
- Mastery of reading blueprints, electrical or hydraulic schematics and other technical materials.
- Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
- Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment.
- Installs, programs, or repairs automated machinery and equipment and programmable controllers.
- Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures, and tools.
- Operates cuttings torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
- Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus, such as transformers, motors, and light fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables.
- Diagnoses and replaces faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
- Initiates purchase orders for parts and machines.
- Logs time and materials allocations to ensure accurate records.
- Designs and fabricates machine and equipment modifications as needed to achieve customer satisfaction.
- Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product.
- Responsible for adherence to the policies, procedures and instructions of the ISO 14001 systems.
Qualifications
- Associates Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a 2-year college or technical school in maintenance or related field and 6 years technical experience in industrial maintenance position or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Can demonstrate a mastery of at least four (4) of the essential maintenance skills.
- Able to follow both written and verbal instruction.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Regularly required to stand; use hand to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
- Frequently required to walk.
- Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
- Must be able to read and understand English.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
- Frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.
- Occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions; high precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; and extreme heat.
- Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
