About the Role
Serve as the maintenance contact for Operations and lead maintenance activities for the Primary End during the assigned shift. Address emergent maintenance issues and make real-time decisions to support safe and reliable operation.
Responsibilities
- Lead and assist mechanical and electrical personnel in responding to equipment breakdowns and completing preventive maintenance.
- Prioritize and balance breakdown work with planned maintenance activities.
- Perform hands-on mechanical and electrical maintenance work as needed.
- Ensure accurate labor charging, work order completion, documentation quality, and identification of follow-up work in the CMMS.
- Coordinate and oversee embedded and outside contractors.
- Ensure maintenance activities comply with site policies, approved safe job procedures, maintenance standards, and OSHA requirements.
- Identify follow-up work and communicate labor, material, and tooling needs to planners and management.
- Support effective shift turnover by communicating equipment status and outstanding maintenance issues.
- Attend all scheduled maintenance training, safety classes, and monthly safety meetings.
- Monitor and coach team members on specific timely issues and concerns.
- Conduct or attend safety meetings, crew meetings, and maintenance outage/down day meetings as required.
- Help manage the implementation of company and commercial standards (ISO, Department SOPs, OSHA).
Requirements
- Ability to operate welding/electrical testing equipment, hand tools, electric hand tools, pneumatic hand tools, conduit benders, threading machines, hydraulic rams, and gear pullers.
- Minimum 5 years of heavy industrial maintenance experience.
- Experience leading maintenance jobs and projects.
- Experience scheduling people and equipment.
- High level of written and oral communication skills.
- Good understanding of production planning and maintenance systems.
- Mid to high-level computer skills.
- Experience working with employees using a team concept.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position supervises other shift maintenance personnel working on the same shift.
Schedule
Full-time, non-exempt position eligible for overtime. Works 12-hour rotating shifts, including days, nights, and weekends.
