About the Role: The Maintenance Team Lead plays a critical role in ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of manufacturing equipment and facilities within our organization. This position is responsible for leading a team of maintenance technicians to perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities that minimize downtime and maximize productivity. The role requires close collaboration with production, engineering, and safety teams. The Maintenance Team Lead will also oversee the scheduling and training of the maintenance team to foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Ultimately, this role ensures that all maintenance activities contribute to the overall reliability and safety of manufacturing processes, supporting the company’s commitment to operational excellence. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in a related field preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team lead role. Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in manufacturing equipment. Proven ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics. Familiarity with maintenance management systems (CMMS) and basic computer skills. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies. Certification in OSHA safety standards or equivalent safety training. Experience working with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and automation systems. Strong project management skills and experience leading cross-functional teams. Responsibilities: Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of maintenance technicians to ensure timely and effective maintenance of manufacturing equipment and facilities. Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to reduce equipment downtime and extend asset life. Coordinate with production and engineering departments to schedule maintenance activities that minimize disruption to manufacturing operations. Manage maintenance work orders, prioritize tasks, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. Conduct regular inspections and audits of equipment and facilities to identify potential issues and recommend corrective actions. Train and develop team members on technical skills, safety protocols, and company policies. Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports, and documentation to support operational transparency and continuous improvement. Assist in budgeting and procurement of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment. Skills: The Maintenance Team Lead utilizes technical skills daily to diagnose and resolve complex equipment issues, ensuring minimal production interruptions. Leadership and communication skills are essential for effectively managing and motivating the maintenance team, coordinating with other departments, and conveying technical information clearly. Organizational skills are applied to prioritize maintenance tasks, manage schedules, and maintain accurate documentation. Problem-solving skills enable the lead to identify root causes of equipment failures and implement sustainable solutions. Additionally, proficiency with maintenance management software and safety protocols ensures compliance and supports data-driven decision-making to enhance operational efficiency.
