Maintenance Supervisor, Night shift

Essential Functions

• Supervises the activities of Maintenance Techs and Apprentices, to track completion of work orders, planned repairs/projects, and preventative maintenance.
• Includes administration of scheduling, time and attendance, performance feedback and follow-up to ensure optimal job performance.
• Ensures quick and effective response to line breakdowns.
• Investigates and completes failure analysis on work order challenges and works through appropriate actions with teams to prevent future breakdowns.
• Communicates with Supervisors across shifts, and other departments regularly to coordinate maintenance activities with production schedules, providing breakdown and equipment repair status reports.
• Provides a safe environment for continued growth. Ensures teamwork/cooperation among employees. Effectively resolves issues, problems, and complaints.
• Maintains successful personal development through training opportunities. Maximizes team member job performance while maintaining safety procedures and policies.

Required Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in Engineering with a prior Engineering/Maintenance internship OR an Industrial Mechanics’ degree/equivalent technical diploma and five years plant maintenance experience OR seven plus years’ experience in an Industrial Mechanics/related position.
• Strong interpersonal skills, to include professional oral and written communication, a team-focused approach, and the ability to model composure/make decisions in stressful situations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in food manufacturing facilities (esp. poultry).
• Regulatory compliance knowledge, including USDA regulations, HACCP, GMP and Food Safety (SQF).
• Strong computerized maintenance management system knowledge.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish).

Work Environment

• Wide variations in environment temperature (-10 freezer, 32-degree coolers, 40-degree plant, wet cold environment)
• dust, noise, slippery floors and moving equipment
• wearing appropriate PPE is required.

Physical Demands

• Position will include extensive standing, sitting, lifting, climbing ladders, wearing factory required equipment while working in production, walking, visual, responding quickly to sounds and driving.
