Pay

$28.76 - $35.24 per hour, with the ability to go higher for highly experienced candidates.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure assigned buildings, grounds, and designated areas are properly serviced and maintained according to established guidelines
  • Maintain specified equipment, including HVAC units and Maintenance Department vehicles
  • Implement and administer the corporate-wide Facility Utilities System program and Facilities Operations and Maintenance program for each site
  • Monitor and inspect all assigned facilities, collaborating with the Janitorial Supervisor or vendors to ensure a clean, safe environment
  • Prioritize and implement service requests, monitor project schedules, and notify staff of operational inconveniences or relocations
  • Develop and implement work schedules, including on-call coverage for maintenance staff
  • Perform general maintenance (carpentry, plumbing, light electrical, light cement masonry) in compliance with state and federal safety standards
  • Coordinate services and work programs with Facilities Management staff
  • Ensure safety inspections and documentation meet Corporate Standards
  • Coach, mentor, and train direct-report staff, including performance management and evaluations
  • Address performance and behavior issues by clarifying expectations and providing feedback
  • Support staff growth through training and development opportunities
  • Participate in recruitment, selection, and orientation of staff
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Four years’ experience in facilities maintenance, building maintenance, mechanical systems, or construction, including two years of supervisory experience
  • First Aid certification within 90 days of hire
  • Forklift operator’s license preferred
  • Valid Driver’s License and proof of automobile liability insurance

  • Effective verbal, written, and listening communication
  • Logical reasoning, problem-solving, sound judgment, and conflict resolution
  • Ability to prioritize work and handle frequent interruptions
  • Project coordination with vendors and internal teams
  • Professional interaction with diverse employees
  • Knowledge of safe usage of cleaning chemicals and maintenance tools
  • Carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC skills for general maintenance
  • Ability to read and understand construction documents (e.g., “As-Build” drawings, O&M manuals)
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
