JOB FUNCTIONS AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership and Supervision Responsibilities:
- Schedule assignments, monitor progress, provide direction, guidance, and coaching.
- Ensure all paperwork is completed on time and is correct.
- Train Maintenance personnel in, and ensure they follow, all company policies and procedures.
- Attend and participate in Safety meetings, and ensure Maintenance employees attend and participate.
- Lead Safety tailgate meetings to set goals and priorities and address concerns.
- Ensure Safety training is completed in a timely manner and understood and applied.
- Manage Maintenance personnel’s work and schedules, including time off requests, overtime, and call-outs.
- Ensure the Safety and well-being of Maintenance employees, leading by example.
- Oversee housekeeping of assigned work areas and ensure assets are well-maintained and safety equipment is properly maintained.
- Operate and maintain company vehicles safely and ensure Maintenance employees do the same.
- Select and hire Maintenance employees.
- Budget, monitor, and control operating expenses.
- Ensure 85% of time is spent in the field with technicians, ensuring work is performed safely and workers are trained properly.
- Collaborate with various departments across Targa, fostering strong working relationships.
Technical Responsibilities:
- Oversight of troubleshooting, predictive, preventative, and corrective maintenance on natural gas engines and compressors.
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions and establish preventative and predictive maintenance programs in Maximo.
- Audit work permits and provide feedback on findings.
- Oversee contract crews and ensure necessary approvals are received.
- Create long-term reliability improvement solutions based on Maintenance KPIs.
- Schedule and execute mock drills to support equipment reliability.
- Use Maximo to improve equipment reliability for better run time.
- Foster strong buying practices and order materials only as needed.
- Review and approve subordinate’s Corporate Card statements and timely T&E monthly submittals.
- Ensure receiving is on time and with proper documentation, timely invoice approvals, and Before the Fact PO’s.
Safety Responsibilities:
- Be a strong ambassador for Stop Work Authority and conduct field reviews, inspecting tasks requiring LOTO.
- Provide feedback after observations and address unsafe acts or conditions.
- Attend PSM audits, incident investigations, and PHA revalidations.
- Follow up on CPA/PSM/RMP Action Items and ensure they are closed before due dates.
- Conduct Stop Work drills and issue Confined Space and Critical Lift permits.
- Inspect perimeter fencing, gates, gas cylinders, extension cords, fire extinguishers, SCBA, safety showers, hoists, signage, portable and stationary ladders, steps, and stairs, electrical connections, and conduit.
- Ensure secondary containments are in good condition and SDS’ are up to date.
- Ensure proper electrical grounding and check for leaks.
Environmental Responsibilities:
- Promptly report “out of compliance” conditions or environmental concerns to the environmental specialist.
- Communicate with Operations personnel and collaborate with environmental personnel to track compliance tasks.
- Ensure emissions inventory requirements are tracked and review flaring events, blowdown logs, and facility changes.
- Review air permit applications and ensure accuracy.
- Assist with incident investigations and regulatory communications.
- Review Deviation Reports and ensure records are entered into Maximo or CTS.
- Ensure waste is handled properly with assistance from Environmental Specialists.
- Address housekeeping issues and ensure AVO’s are conducted, tracked, and paperwork is available.
MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, and/or training, is preferred.
- Valid driver license required.
- Minimum 5 years of work-related experience.
- Knowledge of PSM and mechanical drawings, maintenance records, maintenance procedures, equipment drawings, and maintenance manuals.
- Advanced computer skills (Excel, Access, Word) and networking experience.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in close quarters, work while kneeling, squatting, sitting, climbing, and standing.
- Follow and adhere to all applicable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines.
- Regular and reliable attendance is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Completion of advanced training, schooling, or certificates.
- Leadership experience, 5 years +, managing and maintaining complex mechanical and electrical equipment and processes listed under job duties in a leadership role.
- An excellent understanding of utilizing predictive maintenance tools- oil analysis, vibration, trending, etc., including other diagnostic tools.
- Ability to train others.
- Able to troubleshoot equipment failures.
- Plant Maintenance Operations over several years utilizing MAXIMO CMS systems.
