About the role
The Recycling Center Maintenance Supervisor oversees a maintenance shop and its technician team, ensuring all tasks are completed safely and efficiently. This role involves supervising technicians, conducting quality control inspections, managing inventory, approving expenses, and providing coaching.
Responsibilities
- Supervise technicians in the maintenance shop
- Conduct daily debrief meetings
- Coach and counsel technicians on performance and corrective actions
- Evaluate and recommend merit increases, promotions, and job changes
- Conduct Quality Control Inspections
- Track and resolve issues to ensure work complies with safety and regulatory standards
- Oversee maintenance shop inventory control
- Auditing and approving expenses within budget
- Diagnosing and resolving complex repair issues
- Maintain advanced knowledge of recycling equipment and systems
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience in recycling, transportation, disposal, or related industries
- Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience in a lead technician role
- Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office knowledge
- Effective communication and customer service skills
- Strong organizational and collaboration abilities
Skills
- Advanced knowledge of stationary recycling equipment and systems
- Ability to diagnose and repair complex machinery and vehicles
- Knowledge of welding tools
