About the role

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily activities of the maintenance team to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all plant equipment and systems. This role provides hands-on leadership in executing preventive and corrective maintenance, minimizing equipment downtime, and ensuring work is completed in alignment with Plaskolite’s operational standards, safety policies, and production goals. The Maintenance Supervisor plays a key role in supporting team development, driving continuous improvement, and contributing to capital project planning and execution.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead the maintenance team across assigned shifts, including scheduling, task assignments, performance management, and shift handovers.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with OSHA regulations and Plaskolite’s safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and PPE use.
  • Manage execution of preventive maintenance programs and corrective work orders to maximize equipment uptime and reliability.
  • Oversee troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, providing technical guidance where needed.
  • Utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to track maintenance activities, prioritize work orders, and ensure data accuracy.
  • Cook up coordination and project tracking for capital improvement projects, including contractor coordination and project tracking.
  • Support development and training of Maintenance Technicians and Leads, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain proper inventory levels of critical spare parts and supplies, working with Procurement and Storeroom personnel to manage reorders and usage.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Must have a high school diploma with 3 -5 years of experience in Maintenance Supervision
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent with 5+ years of experience in a maintenance environment.
  • Preferred: Apprenticed in a technical trade with 10 years’ experience in machine tool applications, performing industrial equipment repairs, and working with PM programs.
  • Must have the ability to read, understand, and update print.
  • Must possess a good understanding of computer and network fundamentals.
  • Basic understanding of preventative maintenance, and condition monitoring techniques.
  • Possess a good understanding for mechanical design & operation, including hydraulics, pneumatics, gear boxes, lubrication, etc.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to manage multiple projects and priorities
