Maintenance Supervisor Role Overview

Oversees day-to-day operations of the maintenance department.

  • Assigns PM's, checks PM completion and tracks PM completion rates.
  • Manages and directs daily activities to Mechanics and Parts Clerk.
  • Ensures all safety standards, policies and procedures are followed.
  • Schedules maintenance employees according to workloads, vacations, etc.
  • Reviews the operation of plant equipment and systems constantly to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipates and solves problems in a timely manner, and identifies opportunities for improvement.
  • Responsible for Food Safety where applicable.
  • Works with maintenance team to adhere to budget costs.
  • Creates department procedures and facilitates training.
  • Other duties as assigned.

    Required Qualifications

    • High school diploma or GED required.
    • Five (5) years maintenance experience required.
    • Four (4) years of supervisory experience required.
    • Programmable Logistics Controller (PLC) training required.
    • Good leadership skills required.
    • Good oral and written communication skills required.
    • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    • Must be able to communicate with highly skilled technicians.
    • Must be able to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and plumbing problems.
    • Must be able to work hours necessary to complete assigned tasks.
