Job Description

The duties and responsibilities of this position shall consist of, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Supervises repairs, maintenance, cleaning and installation of machines to ensure continuous production.
  • Supervises general maintenance of building and grounds.
  • Inspects machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards.
  • Ensures that the building, the machinery, and all areas are fully functional and safe for use. Responsible for all projects related to facilities maintenance.
  • Ensures all plant/DC systems are operating as required and within the specification limits for plant operations. (air compressors, ammonia systems, HVAC, etc.)
  • Observes, documents and offers suggestions for equipment modifications, changes and upgrades that improve production processes.
  • Develop preventative maintenance plans for all equipment.
  • Requisitions tools, equipment and supplies for required operations.
  • Responsible for monitoring completion of assigned Preventative Maintenance tasks and returns completed documentation to Maintenance Coordinator.

Qualifications

  • Required Education: High School Diploma or GED*
  • Required Experience: 2-3 years of equipment maintenance in manufacturing, including hydraulics, pneumatics, & electronics
  • Preferred: 1 year of Lead or prior supervisory experience, preferably in the food industry
  • *A high school diploma or GED is equivalent to two years of relevant experience
  • Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
    • Solid verbal and written communication skills; must work effectively with all levels of management and employees
    • Demonstrated effective leadership, problem solving, presentation, and employee motivational skills
    • Proficient in Internet navigation, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
    • Exceptional mechanical aptitude and facility maintenance skills
    • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electronics, and/or electrical/mechanical
    • Ability to maintain and handle multiple functions/ tasks relating to the day to day operations for Jack Links
    • Proactive style that ensures the completion of projects despite obstacles
    • Actively seeks to utilize a “Collaborative Team Approach” in all situations
    • Continually strives to influence a positive company culture and leads by example

Physical Demands

  • Regularly stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and talk or hear
  • Occasionally sit, and reach with hands and arms
  • Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Close vision required

Work Environment

  • Plant / Office setting with varying degrees of temperatures and noise levels
  • Exposure to manufacturing equipment movement and wet / slippery floors
  • Travel may be required
