About the role
The position is a 3rd Shift Salaried Position with typical work hours of 10:00pm-6:30pm. The department is Maintenance and reports to the Maintenance Manager. Located in Decatur, AR – Manufacturing Plant.
Responsibilities
- Directly supervise employees in Maintenance.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Interview and train employees.
- Plan, assign, and direct work.
- Appraise performance.
- Reward and discipline employees.
- Address complaints and resolve problems.
- Ensure employee safety and food safety.
- Coach employees on safe practices.
- Facilitate team meetings.
- Oversee maintenance schedules.
- Coach and develop team members.
- Facilitate shift and team communication.
- Train staff on maintenance practices.
- Schedule maintenance work orders.
- Coordinate part usage and oversee parts check out.
- Act as on-shift representative for emergency response coordination.
- Respond to employee issues.
- Conduct thorough investigations and coordinate results/issues.
- Demonstrate commitment to continuous improvement.
- Manage safety by ensuring compliance with regulations and internal policies.
- Complete safety system documentation and verify compliance.
- Report deviations to Supervisor.
- Participate in mandatory safety trainings.
- Manage data to ensure accuracy and confidence in decision making.
- Proactively manage safety.
- Respond to safety issues, near misses, and injuries.
- Complete quality and food safety system documentation and verify compliance.
- Report deviations to Supervisor.
- Participate in mandatory food safety and quality training programs.
- Preserve the integrity of the BRC system.
- Take actions necessary to resolve food safety and quality system deficiencies.
- Report food safety and quality system failures.
- Take actions necessary to preserve the BRC system.
Qualifications
- 3-5 Years experience in a Maintenance/Team Lead Role.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience managing employee performance, conducting reviews, coaching, and administering disciplinary action.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage at least 10 employees.
- Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports, and speak effectively.
- Experience operating production machines.
- Experience with extruders, packaging systems, and conveying equipment.
- Experience in a food or beverage manufacturing environment.
