Maintenance Specialist Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment, extrusion lines, facility systems, and electrical distribution equipment to maximize uptime and productivity
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, conveyor, PLC, HMI, PC-based control systems, AC/DC drives, and machine controls
  • Program, modify, install, and support PLC hardware, software, and automated control systems, coordinating with outside vendors when necessary
  • Design, troubleshoot, and modify electrical control circuits, including standard and safety circuits
  • Inspect, test, and verify equipment performance after repairs to ensure safe and reliable operation
  • Perform basic fabrication, welding, machining, and assembly to repair or manufacture replacement components as needed
  • Utilize the CMMS system to manage work orders, document maintenance activities, track labor, and record parts usage
  • Conduct root cause failure analysis, update equipment documentation, and implement corrective actions to improve equipment reliability
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S activities, shift handoffs, and collaboration with production and maintenance teams

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience with industrial maintenance or an Associate's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Industrial Maintenance or a state-approved apprenticeship program
  • Certified in Allen-Bradley PLC, HMI, and AC/DC drive training courses
  • Experience with NEC, OSHA, and EPA standards
  • Experience with NFPA 70B & 70E
  • MIG, TIG, and stick welding experience
  • Knowledge of plastic compounding technology
  • Ability to lift 55 lbs
