Maintenance Specialist
Job Description
Plan, develop, and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance schedules for preventive, predictive, corrective, and capital maintenance activities. Review, prioritize, and coordinate work orders within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), ensuring accurate scheduling and resource allocation. Coordinate with maintenance supervisors, technicians, contractors, and stakeholders to schedule work, outages, shutdowns, and special projects while minimizing operational disruptions. Monitor work order progress, track completion status, update schedules, and communicate changes to affected personnel. Analyze maintenance data and performance metrics, identify scheduling conflicts or inefficiencies, and recommend process improvements. Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment histories, labor utilization reports, and scheduling documentation. Assist with inventory planning and coordination of materials, tools, equipment, and contractor services required for scheduled work.
Qualifications
- Completion of an approved apprenticeship program for multiple trades and one year of appropriate experience; or a high school diploma and five years of appropriate experience. Appropriate vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
Skills
- Skilled in troubleshooting and organizing maintenance work
- Skilled in using tools and equipment in maintenance and repair work
Physical Qualifications
- Ability to walk to customer/trouble locations
- Ability to move or lift weights, such as ladders, tools, and equipment, weighing up to 100 pounds with assistance

Expected Salary
$29.00 - $33.00 hourly based on experience.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an approved apprenticeship program for multiple trades and one year of appropriate experience; or a high school diploma and five years of appropriate experience. Appropriate vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
Preferred
- State of Florida Class E vehicle operator (driver) license
- Advanced wastewater treatment principles, use of hand tools, computer use and safety rules
Knowledge
- Knowledge of the principles and techniques of the skilled building trades or mechanical repair work
- Knowledge of safety procedures for maintenance and repair work
Abilities
- Ability to perform a variety of skilled trades functions
- Ability to read blueprints
- Ability to install, maintain, and repair electric motors, generators, and mechanical equipment
- Ability to take accurate measurements
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to and to use test, measurement, and control instrumentation
- Ability to read a service request
- Ability to recognize the proper materials and equipment to be used for a specific job and make change (as necessary)
