About the role

This position supports the maintenance and repair of buildings, equipment, and structures across the Shikellamy State Park Complex. The role uses a wide range of trade skills to keep facilities safe and operational.

Responsibilities

• Carpentry Work: Repair or install wooden structures and fixtures across park facilities
• Plumbing Tasks: Fix leaks, open drains, and maintain plumbing systems throughout the complex
• Masonry Projects: Build and repair concrete forms, walkways, walls, and building foundations
• Electrical Repairs: Replace wiring, fixtures, and related components to keep systems functioning safely
• Equipment Operation: Operate vehicles and machinery to support daily maintenance activities
• Landscape Care: Maintain turf, trails, and outdoor areas through mowing, pruning, and general upkeep

Requirements

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the required knowledges, skills, and abilities.

Special Requirement: This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.

PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title. You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Schedule

Full-time employment. Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Days and shifts will vary due to the seasonal nature of the position.

Telework is not available for this position.

Pay

Starting salary may be non-negotiable in some cases.
