Become a Maintenance Repairman 2 with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and take pride in keeping communities safe and connected! This position gives you hands-on experience with a broad range of building and repair work in a supportive environment where reliability and skill matter.
Responsibilities
- Structural Repair: Repair structures and bridges using carpentry, welding, masonry, and concrete methods
- Equipment Operation: Operate construction tools and machinery to complete maintenance tasks
- Electrical Work: Install and replace fixtures, wiring, and related system components
- Plumbing Maintenance: Maintain and repair plumbing fixtures, as well as install new piping when required
- Heating and Cooling System Checks: Perform routine inspections and adjustments to heating and cooling systems
- Crew Leadership: Coordinate tasks and guide semi-skilled workers during projects
Requirements
- Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the required knowledges, skills, and abilities
- Possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's license
- Ability to perform essential job functions
Pay
Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin at the starting annual salary of $41,605.00 (before taxes).
Schedule
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch
- Telework is not available for this position
