MAINTENANCE REPAIRER 2

About the role

The Louisiana Veterans Homes mission is to serve the Veteran population of Louisiana through the provision of maintenance services in an atmosphere of respect and compassion. This role is based at the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Home.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily maintenance tasks such as electrical, plumbing, mechanical work.
• Discusses evaluations and performance with the Facility Maintenance Manager A, recommending disciplinary actions when necessary, and resolving conflicts.
• Affirms quality assurance through audits and staff in-services, aiding in improvements within the maintenance department and adherence to policy and procedure standards.
• Reports resident complaints and incidents, collaborating with the Facility Maintenance Manager A to ensure all complaints and incidents are properly handled.
• Maintains a safe, clean, and effective work environment for residents and employees.

Requirements

• Two years of experience or training in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or park operations and grounds maintenance.
• Completion of a two-year vocational technical program in general building construction, construction technology, or engineering.
• Twelve semester hours in construction management, construction technology, or engineering, or any combination of these courses.

$1,573.60 bi/weekly - $19.67/hour; On Call Pay: $2.00/HR - Worked Hours Only

Schedule

Hours are from Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. to include possibly some emergency weekends and holidays.
