About the role

Ascent Hospitality is seeking a Maintenance Preventive Technician to join their team. This role is crucial for ensuring guest rooms and public areas are in excellent working condition, while maintaining a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment for both guests and team members.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance in guest rooms, meeting spaces, and public areas.
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair guest rooms in accordance with brand standards and property guidelines.
  • Conduct minor repairs such as light bulb changes, tightening fixtures, and patching walls.
  • Clean and maintain surfaces including tubs, showers, floors, mirrors, and windows.
  • Respond promptly to guest and department maintenance requests.
  • Complete work orders efficiently and accurately.
  • Report serious maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or unusual findings immediately to the supervisor.
  • Aid with custodial or general upkeep tasks when needed.
  • Properly use and maintain all tools, equipment, and safety devices.
  • Ensure compliance with company, brand, and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support smooth hotel operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Previous maintenance or facilities experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting, and carpentry.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Excellent customer service and teamwork skills.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of related experience or training preferred.
  • Must be able to work well independently and as part of a team.

Skills

  • Basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting, and carpentry knowledge.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
