Maintenance Porter - Driving

Responsibilities

• Perform facility maintenance and customer service duties with minimal supervision.
• Complete maintenance and cleaning tasks as outlined in checklists or directed by the facility manager/supervisor, including:
  • Removing dirt, dust, litter, and debris from all facility areas using brooms, mops, brushes, and other hand tools.
  • Daily garage walks to identify and correct maintenance issues.
  • Sweeping and cleaning entrances, exits, stairwells, surface rails, booths, offices, and restrooms.
  • Emptying trashcans throughout the garage, booth, and office.
• Paint facility areas (poles, signs, doors, walls, curbs, islands, gates, etc.) as directed to maintain a neat appearance.
• Replace burned-out bulbs and apply oil absorbent to spills.
• Submit repair or maintenance requests as needed.
• Inspect safety items (e.g., gate arms, clearance bars) and check ticket spitters/gates daily for proper operation, ticket supply, and clock accuracy.
• Provide ticket and gate counter records to the manager.
• Maintain inventory of janitorial supplies and garage/lot sweep sheets.
• Operate automatic sweepers, scrubbers, outdoor equipment (e.g., weed eaters, lawnmowers), and electrical tools for repairs or construction.
• Shovel, plow, or blow snow from entrances, exits, and designated areas using shovels, snow blowers, or light-duty equipment.
• Report policy violations, safety hazards, or unusual occurrences to the facility manager promptly.
• Adhere to the Three Keys to Customer Satisfaction and Five Customer Service Behaviors to ensure positive customer interactions.
• Assist customers within the facility or as directed by the facility manager/supervisor.
• Resolve customer complaints independently or with supervisor assistance.
• Cover other duties (e.g., cashier, attendant) as needed.
• Maintain a neat, clean appearance and wear a complete uniform during scheduled shifts.
• Perform other assigned duties.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Facility maintenance, electrical, or painting experience/skills may be required depending on the job assignment.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license with a current address and acceptable driving record.
• Availability to work special shifts, including 3rd shift and/or weekends, if required by the location.
• Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to read, write, and interpret English.
• Ability to respond to common customer inquiries or complaints.
• Adaptability to changes in the work environment, delays, or unexpected events.
• Sound judgment and professionalism under pressure.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to use hands and fingers, communicate with customers/employees, sit, reach with hands and arms, stand, or walk for long periods (up to 8 hours).
• Frequently required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, turn, stretch, and bend.
• Must be able to lift and move 50 pounds or more regularly and move quickly.
• Specific vision abilities: close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
• Ability to work with dust, chemicals, and other irritants, as well as in extreme weather conditions (rain, snow, cold, heat).

$16.00 per hour
