ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Confirms the necessity of outsourcing maintenance activities, ensures the correct cost center is charged, and monitors appropriate staffing levels.
- Functions as a backup to your Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) administrator for (Insert your CMMS here).
- Ensures all accepted work orders are reviewed, prioritized, and have a detailed work plan consisting of the required manpower, skill sets, duration, safety procedures, tools, materials, equipment, permits, and specifications.
- Creates job plans for maintenance work orders that include craft skills, parts, tools, equipment, information, permits, and expertise (internal, external, equipment) required.
- Develops job standards to ensure work is performed within acceptable and optimal limits and meets all safety, environmental, and compliance requirements.
- Uses previous experience, CMMS history, and subject matter experts to determine manpower requirements and length of time needed to execute a work order.
- Creates and maintains equipment files with standard job packages, including accurate and complete Bills of Material (BOM) and any relevant technical information to ensure continual improvement of planned work execution.
- Facilitates routine cross-functional planning meetings with assigned business units to review the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) backlog and verify work priorities for the upcoming weekly schedule.
- Covers upcoming maintenance work with the production schedule to ensure access to equipment at the agreed-upon time.
- Develops, maintains, and reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) relevant to the planning process, such as schedule compliance, planning accuracy, backlog aging, and budgetary compliance.
- Optimizes the Preventive Maintenance (PM) program by evaluating task lists, part requirements, and frequencies, with input from maintenance technicians, supervisors, and operations managers.
- Collaborates with the VP of Fleet and Logistics on decisions to send components out for refurbishment.
- Works with your storeroom team to establish minimum/maximum stock levels, discuss additions and removals of items from stock, creation of job kits, and requests for capital spares.
- Develops detailed daily and weekly schedules for the maintenance supervisor.
- Develops a two-week forward plan.
- Develops a four-week PM plan forecast.
- Serves as co-chairperson for the weekly scheduling meeting.
- Develops detailed schedules and tracks the progress of all maintenance and fabrication work.
- Supports Total Process Reliability (TPR) or Continuous Improvement (CI) improvement initiatives.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- 24 years maintenance planning experience.
- Ability to lead through influence and persuasion.
- Technical expertise in the areas of equipment and multiple maintenance crafts, as well as the ability to apply this knowledge in the creation of timely, complete, technically correct, and cost-effective repair plans, is a plus.
- The ability to visualize a job and assess needs for non-standard components and equipment.
- The ability to use previous experience, CMMS history, and subject matter experts to determine manpower requirements and the length of time needed to execute a work order.
- The ability to communicate clearly and concisely in written and verbal form.
- The ability to maintain effective working relationships with other personnel, including operators, technicians, vendors, and contractors.
- The ability to indirectly supervise supplemental workforce (contractors) with respect to assignment coordination and cost.
- Capable of reading, interpreting, and applying information from files, drawings, catalogs, schematics, diagrams, reports, and manuals.
- Proficient PC skills and experience with MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as well as Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
