Maintenance Planner/Scheduler

About the Role

Fermilab is seeking a Maintenance Planner/Scheduler who, under direct supervision, provides planning and scheduling services to operations maintenance and utility engineering groups within the FESS Facility Management group. This role will focus on providing necessary logistical support in executing maintenance work across the site.

Responsibilities

• Determine work plans based on site-wide field trips, priority, available workforce, and other criteria, and review plans and schedules with associated craft supervisors (e.g., sump pump replacement, re-lamping of buildings, HVAC repairs, and thermographic inspections).
• Review corrective, preventive, and predictive work for planning and scheduling in assigned craft areas and provide time estimates and priorities to ensure backlog determination.
• Interface with customers, building managers, and division technical personnel when necessary and assist in developing and providing daily, weekly, monthly, and long-term plans and schedules to building managers and the department management team.
• Coordinate parts and material acquisitions for planned work between Store Room personnel and/or vendors concerning parts needs, status, tracking, and follow-up.
• Utilize (FAMIS) Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for work order management and scheduling activities. Update and add equipment records into FAMIS, including O&M manuals, spare parts listings, warranty information, and preventive maintenance task lists and frequencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Abide by and be responsible for performing all duties in accordance with all environmental, health, and safety regulations and practices pertinent to this position.

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree with a discipline in Facilities Management or related field.
• A minimum of 5+ years of experience.

Skills

• Microsoft Office experience.
• Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
• Experience in scheduling mechanical, electrical, HVAC, or building envelope maintenance tasks.

Schedule

This is an onsite role at Fermilab’s Batavia office. The work arrangement is subject to change based on business needs.

Pay

The expected hiring range for this position is $41.43–$50.53 per hour.
