About the role

Client is currently in search of a Maintenance Planner to join the Hotline/Operations Group in Alcoa, TN. The primary focus of this role is to act as liaison between production, engineering, and maintenance. This position reports directly to the Maintenance Superintendent.

Schedule

  • 12-hour shifts on a 2/3/3/2 pattern (days or nights, assigned based on business need).
  • Weekend work required every other weekend on the 2/3/3/2 pattern.
  • Must be available to cover vacations, medical leave, or other absences as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all information is available on Work Orders, Preventative Maintenance Orders, and Predictive Maintenance work to optimize touch time for craft personnel, including reviewing and updating work procedures and scheduling resources effectively.
  • Identify, obtain, stage, and document materials, special tools, or equipment needed for work; pre-kit parts and tools in Oracle eAM to reduce tradesperson downtime and maximize wrench time.
  • Review completed work to schedule follow-up tasks and update work information in Oracle eAM for future reference.
  • Identify necessary updates for materials or documentation and apply Lean Manufacturing tools to improve processes.
  • Maintain weekday, weekend, and planned outage work schedules.
  • Ensure safety, health, and environmental concerns are addressed prior to scheduling work; collaborate with the EHS team to complete safe work plans and contractor/supplemental labor approvals.
  • Enter production and maintenance data to support continuous improvement.
  • Update and maintain documentation such as survey and calibration records, work instructions, etc.
  • Order and stock materials and forms to support production and maintenance departments.
  • Backfill as Maintenance Supervisor to cover vacations, weekends, and outages as needed.
  • Assist with the management of the Overtime System.

Requirements

  • High school education or GED.
  • 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 3–5 years of previous experience in both Planning and Scheduling.
  • Mechanical/electrical background.

Qualifications

  • Associates or BS degree in a technical field (preferred).
  • 3+ years of planning experience in a manufacturing environment (preferred).
  • Strong organizational and planning skills; recognized leadership ability.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Highly motivated with a collaborative approach across all levels of the organization.
  • Extensive working knowledge of Oracle eAM.
  • Ability to effectively manage conflict resolution.
  • Previous experience in maintenance and as a machinist/fabricator (preferred).
  • Reading and math skills, including the ability to read and interpret fabrication and machining blueprints and produce field sketches.
  • Strong computer skills, including maintenance software, with the ability to quickly learn new applications.
