Maintenance Planner

About the Role

This position involves close collaboration with Operations, Stores, Engineering, Maintenance, Electrical & Instrumentation, and other departments to plan, estimate, and execute work orders efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains liaison with multiple departments to coordinate work orders.
  • Plans work orders by breaking them into steps, determining sequences, and identifying required parts, materials, skills, tools, and rental equipment.
  • Obtains necessary drawings, sketches, specifications, and procedures.
  • Estimates costs for work orders as required.
  • Initiates and plans work orders for repairs discovered during preventive maintenance inspections.
  • Develops standard work procedures for recurring tasks.
  • Maintains equipment history records, including closed work orders, preventive maintenance checklists, drawings, and modifications.
  • Serves as Relief Maintenance Manager in the absence of the Maintenance Manager.
  • Diligently monitors work areas for safety hazards and addresses them promptly.
  • Completes accident reports with support from the EHS Manager.
  • Supports safety program initiatives led by the operations management team.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in root cause analysis and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to recognize potential problems before they escalate.
  • Strong listening and comprehension skills for verbal instructions.
  • Cooperative and pleasant demeanor when working with others.
  • Adaptability to change and variety in the workplace.
  • Professional training in mechanical or a related field (e.g., formal degrees, technical certifications, apprenticeships).
  • Clear oral and written communication skills.
  • Some experience in a manufacturing environment preferred but not required if skills are demonstrated.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook Suite.
  • Experience with FIIX is a plus but not required.

Physical Requirements

  • Performs physical activities requiring considerable use of arms and back, such as handling products.
  • Stands or walks for the entire work shift.
  • Frequently bends, stretches, twists, or reaches with body and arms.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.

Clothing Requirements

  • Safety-toed and slip-resistant boots/shoes required in production areas.
  • Safety glasses (provided) must be worn at all times in production areas.
  • Ear plugs required in all production areas.
