About the role
The Reliability Excellence Planning Lead improves workforce productivity and work quality by eliminating potential delays and obstacles through proper planning of required materials, procedures, and resources for maintenance work. This role is responsible for planning all maintenance work in the assigned area and maintaining records for analysis and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Reviews and screens work orders for completeness.
- Develops and maintains planned and predictive maintenance procedures.
- Determines the best approach to complete jobs and identifies necessary materials, tools, and equipment.
- Requisitions, orders, or kits materials and verifies critical item availability.
- Estimates labor, materials, and total costs for each work order.
- Maintains backlog files of work orders with priority limits and estimated completion dates.
- Creates standard work orders for recurring repair jobs based on historical experience.
- Reviews actual labor and material usage versus estimates with maintenance management.
- Provides informal training on maintenance procedures and software.
- Reviews completed work orders for accuracy, updates machinery history, and ensures bills of materials are current.
- Understands methods for maintaining or replacing mechanical equipment, including conveyors, elevators, mills, pumps, grinders, and food processing equipment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (2-year vocational or technical degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in plant maintenance, preferably as a millwright or electrician with leadership in preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Trade knowledge to estimate labor hours and materials and visualize job completion.
- Ability to read blueprints and shop drawings.
- Strong mathematical skills.

Pay
The compensation range for this position is $74,448.00–$83,754.00, with eligibility for an annual incentive bonus.
