Maintenance Planner

About the role

We are looking for a Maintenance Planner to act as liaison between production, engineering, and maintenance at our Tennessee Operations in Alcoa, TN. This position reports directly to the Maintenance Superintendent and focuses on optimizing maintenance workflows, documentation, and resource allocation.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all information is available on Work Orders, Preventative Maintenance Orders, and Predictive Maintenance work to optimize touch time for craft personnel, including reviewing and updating work procedures and scheduling resources effectively.
• Identify, obtain, stage, and document materials, special tools, or equipment needed for work orders in Oracle eAM, pre-kitting parts to reduce tradesperson downtime.
• Review completed work to schedule follow-up tasks and update work information for future use in Oracle eAM, including necessary updates to materials or documentation.
• Apply Lean Manufacturing tools and principles to improve processes.
• Maintain weekday, weekend, and planned outage work schedules while ensuring safety, health, and environmental concerns are addressed prior to scheduling.
• Collaborate with the EHS team to complete documentation for safe work plans and contractor/supplemental labor approval.
• Enter production and maintenance data to support continuous improvement.
• Update and maintain documentation such as survey and calibration records, work instructions, etc.
• Order and stock materials and forms to support production and maintenance departments.
• Backfill as Maintenance Supervisor to cover vacations, weekends, and outages as needed.
• Assist with the management of the Overtime System.

Requirements

• High school education or GED.
• 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States; verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s or BS degree in a technical field.
• 3+ years of planning experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong organizational and planning skills with demonstrated leadership.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Highly motivated with a collaborative approach across all levels of the organization.
• Extensive working knowledge of Oracle eAM.
• Ability to effectively manage conflict resolution.
• Strong computer skills, including maintenance software, with the ability to quickly learn new applications.
