About The Role
The Roving Maintenance Mechanic is a member of the East Region’s technical strike force, providing advanced maintenance expertise and surge support across regional hubs. This role focuses on improving asset reliability, reducing downtime, and driving operational excellence through preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
- Lead safe work practices and enforce safety standards, including Stop Work Authority.
- Execute preventive and predictive maintenance to improve asset reliability and availability.
- Perform advanced diagnostics, including vibration analysis, infrared thermography, ultrasonic testing, and equipment calibration.
- Provide rapid-response support for critical outages and operational emergencies within the regional hub network.
- Support maintenance standardization and adherence to Work Week Management processes.
- Utilize multi-craft skills to improve efficiency and reduce redundant maintenance activities.
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action planning for equipment failures.
- Maintain accurate CMMS/ALM documentation and asset health records.
- Identify opportunities for Operator Care and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Apply Lean principles and waste elimination practices to improve performance across sites.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in a Thermomechanical Treatment Facility (TTF) or similar heavy industrial/manufacturing environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree, journeyman status, or Lean Six Sigma certification preferred.
- Ability to obtain or possess MA 1C/2C/3A Hoisting Licenses; additional certifications in electrical, welding, or hydraulics preferred.
- Ability to travel within a 45-minute radius of the assigned hub.
- Proficiency with CMMS/ALM systems and maintenance technologies.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

Pay
Employees in this role will receive a 15% premium applied to their base compensation. The pay range for the primary location of this position is $73,807.00 - $101,445.00.
