About the role

This is a full-time Maintenance Mechanic position at the MDH Springfield Hospital Center, supporting facility operations through skilled mechanical maintenance and repair work.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and routine repairs on building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical equipment.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions in facility machinery, pumps, motors, and control systems.
• Conduct inspections to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and time spent on tasks.
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests and coordinate with other trades as needed.
• Assist with installation, modification, and testing of new equipment or systems.

Qualifications

• Experience performing mechanical maintenance and repair work in a commercial, industrial, or institutional setting.
• Knowledge of tools, materials, and practices common to the mechanical trades (e.g., plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or general building maintenance).
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Skill in using hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Physical ability to lift, carry, and move heavy equipment and to work in confined spaces or at heights.

Pay

$43,537.00 – $56,328.00 per year, with potential growth to $68,667.00 per year.
