Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial equipment, including conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, and drive systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues in a timely and safe manner to minimize downtime.
- Track conveyor belts, align rollers, and replace worn components as necessary.
- Perform precision shaft and pulley alignments once trained (laser and dial indicators).
- Lubricate bearings, chains, and other mechanical components using correct methods and schedules.
- Interpret mechanical blueprints, equipment schematics, and work orders with guidance.
- Use CMMS software for work order tracking, time entry, and PM execution.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and perform root cause failure analysis as needed.
- Safely operate lifts, cranes, and hoists; follow LOTO procedures and plant safety rules.
- Collaborate with other maintenance and operations personnel to ensure production needs are met.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED is required; trade school or technical training is a plus.
- 5+ years of relevant industrial maintenance experience preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in nonwoven or other heavy industrial environments is strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including gears, chains, bearings, and drive systems.
- Familiarity with lubrication techniques and best practices.
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and alignment instruments.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and maintenance manuals.
- Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is preferred.
- Ability to work independently on night shift with minimal supervision.
