Maintenance Mechanic - Moses Lake Production Campus

About the role

The Mechanic works independently and with other plant personnel to perform preventative, predictive and routine maintenance tasks. This role includes troubleshooting issues, repairing failures of production and facilities equipment, and ensuring maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness. This person provides direction for effective execution of maintenance activity on all machinery and equipment throughout the plant and office facilities. The Maintenance Mechanic is also responsible for the optimum utilization of available resources such as manpower, equipment, and time.

Responsibilities

• Ensures alertness and constant awareness of the safe operation of moving equipment and other potential safety hazards in a production plant.
• Ensures necessary level of communication is maintained with the appropriate personnel.
• Ensures the efficient operation of all equipment on the premises by using preventative maintenance and troubleshooting techniques.
• Ensures all equipment overhauls, repairs, installations, or modifications are completed in a timely manner and comply with industry standards and codes as related to safety and quality.
• Establishes clear responsibilities and processes for monitoring work and measuring results.
• Partners with others to get work done and works cooperatively across the organization to achieve shared objectives.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• 3+ years related experience and/or training.
• Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanics.
• Basic electrical repair in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret documents and drawings and write detailed repair reports.
• Ability to analyze and make decisions.
• Ability to diagram equipment control problems.
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
• Good organizational and planning skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with 480-volt power and 24 control voltages to 120-volt electrical troubleshooting.
• Program and troubleshoot Allen Bradley SLC500 and MicroLogix series.

Physical Requirements

• Lift and move heavy equipment.
• Climb ladders and work in high, precarious places.

Working Environment

• May be exposed to wet or humid conditions.
• May be exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
• May be exposed to high noise environments.
• May be exposed to chemicals used in the process.
• Could be in temperatures as low as -5 degrees.

Pay

$28.56 - $41.47/hr depending on experience.
