Responsibilities

• Performs daily maintenance, repairs and preventive maintenance
• Performs preventative maintenance on many types of hospital equipment and a variety of heating and air conditioning systems
• Replaces light bulbs, fluorescent tubes, switchers, plugs, receptacles, ballasts, and makes repairs on faucets, commodes, valves and door closures
• Performs preventative maintenance on a variety of heating and air conditioning system
• Assumes responsibility for checking, maintaining and making repairs on patient room equipment such as beds, bed side tables, lights, nurse call systems and plumbing equipment; boilers, chillers and all associated plant equipment; fan motors, pumps (such as sewage, condensate, vacuum pumps), and other auxiliary equipment; vacuum pumps, medical air compressors, medical gas wall outlets and regulators, etc.
• Operates and maintains Emergency Generators
• Performs inspections to fire safety equipment and systems
