About the role
The Maintenance Mechanic II position involves repairing, modifying, and performing preventive maintenance on CNC machinery, building, facilities, equipment fixtures, and systems. This role also includes troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining facility plumbing, mechanical, and electrical systems.
Responsibilities
- Work safely and without injury.
- Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains CNC machinery as well as standard facility systems.
- Performs routine preventative maintenance operations such as maintaining an accurate TPM record, lubrication, cleaning, filter changes, etc., in accordance with manufacturers' operation and maintenance schedules and guidelines.
- Performs routine and assists with complex trouble-shooting and repair of mechanical equipment and systems (requires the isolation of the malfunction, disassembly of equipment and repair/replacement of bearings, gears, structural components, etc.).
- Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, soliciting information from line operators and other production associates, and listening for problems.
- Uses precision measuring and testing instruments, gauges, power tools, and other hand tools to complete essential functions.
- Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment to return to safe operation.
- Assists in the movement of equipment and furniture as needed.
- Participates in team meetings as required (safety, problem-solving, etc.).
- Implements the Quality Policy and Procedures in all aspects of daily duties and responsibilities.
- Performs limited machining operations incidental to repair and maintenance tasks.
- Performs troubleshooting and root cause analysis of equipment failures.
- Reviews service requests for repairs and maintenance, determining the nature of the problem and recommending appropriate solutions.
- Performs required preventive maintenance actions such as lubrication, cleaning, filter changes, etc.
- Evaluates data to determine equipment performance and verifies effectiveness of repairs by ensuring that product produced meets specifications.
- Flexibility with work shift times to accommodate production needs.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Minimum five years of CNC maintenance troubleshooting and facilities maintenance experience.
- CNC repair experience preferred, including Star, Willemin & Haas.
- Proficient reading engineer drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills; ability to multi-task and prioritize duties.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work collaboratively and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers.
- Ability to effectively problem-solve.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Cooperative, team-focused attitude.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds regularly.
- Ability to stand/walk for 8+ hours.
- Basic experience in electrical troubleshooting, machine electrical and controllers (including 120/240/480 (3-phase) and low voltage systems ranging from 5vdc – 24 vdc).
- Arc Flash training preferred.
