Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair all related plant equipment in a timely manner and with minimum downtime demonstrating urgency and accuracy.
  • Complete work orders, part requisitions, and preventative maintenance on time and on schedule with accuracy and excellent craftsmanship.
  • Encourage good safety practices and ensure Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) are maintained within the department and promote engagement and leadership.
  • Train mechanics within lower classifications and maintain a clean and safe working environment for all.
  • Maintain a good working relationship and communication with all levels.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
  • Must be able to submit and pass a criminal background check, drug screen, and E-verify.
  • Must be able to read and write English.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must have a minimum of five (5) years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in the food industry.
  • Must be able to perform the following physical job requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation:
    • Stand for up to 10 hours on a wet concrete floor.
    • Withstand a cold (40-48 degree) environment.
    • Withstand a hot (80+ degree) environment.
    • Safely lift up to 100 lbs.
    • Work in a fast-paced work environment.
    • Work in confined spaces.
    • Push, pull, bend, kneel, and crouch/squat.

Skills

  • Ability to comprehend equipment manuals and instructions.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic equipment functions.
  • Fabrication skills as well as mill and lathe knowledge.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels including management.
  • Decision-making ability for flagging deviations from procedures.
  • Safe working habits for setting examples for coworkers.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and obtain company-issued licenses.
  • Wear company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
