Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on all assigned electronic/mechanical equipment
- Support plant maintenance repair work related to plumbing, sheet metal, pneumatics, electrical and electronics, including PLC and microprocessors
- Absorb and execute processes that ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations
- Work closely with department supervisors, other department leads, and processing team members to achieve accuracy within the processing department and ensure quality products for customers
- Ensure adherence to Foster Poultry Farms' ACTION guiding principles: Accountability, Collaboration, Truth-Seeking, Initiative, Ownership, and Nimbleness
Qualifications
- Must be able to stand for up to 10 hours on a wet concrete floor
- Must be able to withstand cold (40-48 degrees) and hot (80+ degrees) environments
- Must be able to safely lift at least 50 lbs
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced work environment
- Must be able to work at heights up to 15 feet
- Must be able to work with hand tools
- Must be able to work weekends, holidays, varying shifts, and overtime as needed
- Must be able to submit and pass a criminal background check, drug screen, and E-verify
- Must be able to read and write English legibly
- Must be detail-oriented and proficient in mathematics
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must have basic computer skills including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Must be able to communicate with all levels including management
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision
- Must have decision-making ability for flagging deviations from procedures
- Must be able to work safely and set an example of safe working habits for coworkers
- Must be able to pass company Forklift assessments to obtain a company-issued Forklift license
- Must wear company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- One to three years of experience in food processing, knowledge of USDA regulations, HACCP, GMPs, and SSOPs preferred
