Maintenance Mechanic

Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to join a fast-paced food manufacturing facility. This hands-on role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving production equipment to ensure maximum uptime and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have experience in a commercial bakery or food manufacturing environment, with strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills and the ability to respond quickly to production equipment breakdowns. Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production equipment and facility systems.Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime.Diagnose electrical and mechanical issues using schematics, manuals, and testing equipment.Repair and replace motors, gearboxes, bearings, conveyors, pumps, valves, chains, belts, and related components.Assist with equipment installations, modifications, and startup activities.Complete preventive maintenance tasks according to scheduled maintenance plans.Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders.Follow all safety procedures, GMPs, and food safety regulations.Work closely with production personnel to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.Maintain a clean and organized maintenance shop and work area. Qualifications Minimum 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience.Commercial bakery experience strongly preferred.Candidates with food manufacturing maintenance experience will also be considered.Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.Experience with conveyors, mixers, ovens, packaging equipment, pumps, motors, gearboxes, and production machinery.Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.PLC troubleshooting experience is a plus.Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs.Ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Must have own maintenance tools.
